The England midfielder struck twice in a four-minute period during the second half to pile the pressure on the Italian.
Alvaro Morata had given the Blues a first-half lead but Christian Eriksen’s thunderbolt restored parity before the break.
Alli’s first was stunning; latching on to Eric Dier’s long ball to bring down and fire past Willy Caballero.
A defensive nightmare for Chelsea gave him the chance to double his tally just minutes later and secure the three points for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Here are five talking points from the Bridge…
1. Conte on the brink
It was a fascinating feature of this game that the Chelsea boss remained largely impassive despite the cracking spectacle unfolding in front of him.
Spurs had come to play, taking the game to their hosts. Chelsea were ready for everything their London rivals had to throw at them, eventually drawing first blood.
Yet rather than the usual fist-waving, triumphal leap into the crowd, Conte gave an understated fist-pump. This was his Cup Final here.
Win to keep Chelsea in the top four mix and he could yet mark this season down as one in which he has achieved despite the club’s controversial transfer policy.
Lose and even an FA Cup would not make up for tumbling out of the top four. That now looks to be the case.
Champions League football is a minimum requirement on which Chelsea managers are judged. It looks a bridge too far for the defending champions now.
2. Alli proves his worth
Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
Lay off Dele said Mauricio Pochettino in midweek. Give him the room to mature and accept the fact that, at just 21, he is always likely to make mistakes.
While Gareth Southgate decided against overlooking his failings on international duty, Pochettino has always been a staunch defender of the England midfielder and he delivered here – big time.
Four minutes, two goals and the end of Chelsea’s 28-year stranglehold over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. There were some questioning whether he was even playing during the first half.
Those critics were silent during the second period. Alli’s redemption came here – big time.
